The Northern Governorate held an honouring ceremony for its partners and supporters following its designation as a Healthy Governorate within the World Health Organisation’s Healthy Cities Programme.
The ceremony was attended by the Northern Governor Hassan Abdullah Al Madani, the First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman, and the Advisor for Community Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Ali Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, along with representatives of partner organisations.
The Governor highlighted that the accreditation followed a World Health Organisation evaluation visit in November 2024, describing it as a national milestone that supports Bahrain’s progress in public health and sustainable development. He emphasised the programme’s role in enhancing quality of life, promoting healthy urban environments, and strengthening collaboration with government, private sector, and civil society partners.
