Member of the Ministry of Interior Powerlifting Team, Major Abdullah Abdulwahab Salmeen, won the Champion of Champions Cup in the bench press and secured first place in the under-140kg weight category. He also claimed the Best Lift Cup in addition to receiving the Guest of Honour Award at the Asian Bench Press Championship held in India
On this occasion, the President of the Police Sports Association, Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayat, praised the unlimited support provided by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the sports sector and its personnel. He affirmed that such support represents a fundamental pillar in achieving continued sporting success and accomplishments. He also commended the keen interest and close follow-up of Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, and his constant support for sports teams during their participation in various championships.
He stressed that the achievement reflects the high level of readiness and professionalism demonstrated by Ministry of Interior athletes, embodying determination and commitment in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain honourably, and further strengthening Bahrain’s sporting standing at both regional and international levels.
