His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa inaugurated on Tuesday the new Umm Al Hassam Police Station. The new station is part of the Interior Ministry’s strategic plan to transform police stations into integrated service centres, reinforcing community partnership and keeping pace with technological advancements in security work.
Upon arrival, HE the Interior Minister was received by the Deputy Interior Minister, Chief of Police and the Interior Ministry Undersecretary.
HE the Interior Minister unveiled the commemorative plaque, officially announcing the opening of the new station, which will help provide a safe environment by enhancing rapid response and strengthening security readiness. The station has been designed and equipped as a comprehensive service centre for citizens and residents, featuring modern security systems and advanced technologies to ensure swift processing of operations and high-quality service delivery.
On this occasion, HE the Interior Minister praised the Royal directives and the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, for ongoing development and modernisation efforts that reinforce the Interior Ministry’s role in maintaining security and promoting public safety. He also highlighted the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his commitment to adopting initiatives, programmes and projects that enhance readiness and develop human and technical capabilities to deliver modern security services and safeguard public order.
He affirmed that security represents the cornerstone of growth, prosperity and the preservation of national achievements. He noted the vital services provided by police directorates across the governorates and their role in strengthening community partnership, commending the role of Capital Governorate police stations, including Umm Al Hassam Police Station, in serving citizens, residents, tourism establishments and service institutions, which necessitates continuous enhancement of operational efficiency.
During the visit, HE the Interior Minister received a briefing on the station’s advanced security services. In 2025, the station handled approximately 5,089 cases and included a self-service kiosk enabling the electronic completion of various services, contributing to improved efficiency within the framework of expanding smart services. The station also deploys smart patrol vehicles equipped with the latest technologies and systems to ensure rapid response and immediate handling of reports, thereby strengthening security readiness and upholding the principle of swift response.
HE the Interior Minister toured the station’s facilities, inspected the vehicle area, and reviewed operational procedures, underscoring the importance of sustained dedication, commitment, and a prompt response to ensure security and public safety for all citizens and residents.
