The Ministry of Interior announced that the Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate has, since the beginning of the Iranian aggression targeting several sites in Bahrain, identified and arrested a number of individuals for their involvement in committing serious violations affecting the security and stability of society.
These offences include publishing videos and content expressing sympathy with this heinous attack, which constitutes betrayal of the nation and a clear violation of its values and principles. The individuals also circulated fabricated images generated using artificial intelligence techniques, falsely depicting damage to a number of homes, and shared them through their social media accounts. This contributed to misleading public opinion and spreading fear among citizens and residents, which constitutes a legal offence that harms security and public order.
The Ministry stated that the necessary legal proceedings have been taken and that those arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry of Interior urges the community to obtain information from official sources only and to refrain from circulating or reposting unverified content, in order to avoid legal accountability and to safeguard the security and safety of the nation.
