The Ministry of Interior announced that the Anti-Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has identified and arrested four individuals for misusing social media.
The individuals filmed and published videos related to the effects of the Iranian aggression, including content expressing sympathy with the attack, as well as footage taken from military sites. The videos were circulated through their social media accounts in a manner that constitutes betrayal of the nation and a clear violation of its values and principles.
The Ministry explained that the posting of such content contributes to misleading public opinion and spreading fear among citizens and residents, which could harm security and public order. Legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
It urged everyone to obtain information from official sources and to refrain from circulating or reposting unverified videos or news, to avoid legal accountability and safeguard the nation's security and safety.
