His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa visited the General Directorate of Civil Defence as part of a follow-up on security readiness and efficiency in dealing with the repercussions of the Iranian aggression targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, in a manner that contributes to developing work mechanisms to confront such emergency circumstances and strengthen civil protection.
At the outset of the visit, HE the Interior Minister conveyed to Civil Defence personnel the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, in recognition of their professional and courageous efforts in dealing with the fires and incidents caused by the condemned and unjustified Iranian aggression against citizens, residents, infrastructure and civilian targets.
He said that the high-level response by Civil Defence personnel, including officers, non-commissioned officers, other ranks and volunteers, in dealing with the repercussions of the events, and their dedication to strengthening civil protection, is clearly appreciated by the community and reflects a strong level of preparedness, which has had a tangible impact on fulfilling responsibility towards the nation.
He added that the honourable deeds by Civil Defence personnel reflected the depth of their belief in their national duty and the high degree of field skill and competence they possess in dealing with various incidents in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and the National Ambulance. He expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for their presence from the first day in confronting the aggression and for their role in protecting lives and property.
HE the Interior Minister further stated: “God Almighty has honoured us with serving Bahrain at this time and under these current circumstances, which place upon us grave responsibilities that can only be shouldered by the sincere and loyal.”
He said Bahrain’s police have always been, and will remain, worthy of this trust, working day and night, in times of peace as in times of hardship. He added: “Our responsibilities are a national trust we are proud to carry, a humanitarian mission we are honoured to perform, and that our duty today is to protect the national achievements through steadfastness, discipline, dedication and sincerity.”
He expressed his appreciation to police personnel across all their posts for carrying out their duties professionally. He also expressed thanks to Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, and the Director-General of Civil Defence for their care and field follow-up. He further extended thanks to national institutions, citizens and residents, and praised the volunteers for their national role and willingness to serve in Civil Defence, which had a clear impact on their contributions to various emergency situations. This reflects the role of community partnership in strengthening the public security and safety system. He prayed to God Almighty to protect Bahrain and to protect its security and stability.
