His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism, delivered the following speech on the occasion of Community Partnership and Belonging to Nation Day, which falls on March 18:
It is the wisdom and leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, that has led the Kingdom of Bahrain to the security, stability and prosperity that we enjoy. This is a blessing from God upon us, in which the people of Bahrain express pride in the high values of the Bahraini people.
HM the King wanted the reform project to be a source of projects and policies that meet the needs of society in all circumstances and are based on social cohesion and a high national spirit, in order to build a reassuring present and formulate a bright future through the ambitious political will to move the modern national march in its planned directions.
The royal visions and that authentic approach will remain an extension of the path of good governance in the country of tolerance and firmly established national principles, and what it carries of a historical and civilisation legacy that is passed down through generations, because its national rules are based on principles and strategies, the first of which is cohesion and solidarity, and the second is that strengthening national belonging does not stop at adhering to customs and traditions, but extends to national loyalty, which is based on love of the nation and loyalty to the leadership of HM the Great King, and protecting the social fabric and preserving national milestones, and in a way that contributes to developing the spirit of national belonging and strengthening community security.
Du to the blessed approach and sincere hard work undertaken by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the citizen is the driving force behind any achievement, within a community partnership based on cooperation, belonging, and a sense of responsibility towards the nation.
Community partnership has become a reality and a practice deeply rooted in Bahraini social culture. Thanks to this national orientation, serving Bahrain is an honour and a noble goal. The national aspiration remains for Bahrain to be at the forefront and a leader, thanks to its leadership and people and their dedication to serving the nation. The overwhelming response we witnessed on the volunteer platform, with tens of thousands volunteering to serve Bahrain, is a source of pride and honour. This stems from the understanding that cohesive societies are better equipped to face challenges, a principle reflected in the National Plan. This contributes to strengthening the national unity of Bahraini society, which is renowned for its tolerance and coexistence.
On the occasion of Community Partnership and Belonging to the Nation Day, I would like to note a clear decrease in the crime rate, by 30%. I express my gratitude to the Bahraini police, officers, non-commissioned officers, and other ranks, and my appreciation for the role of community police in enhancing community security. I also commend the outstanding performance of the Maan (together) programme against violence and addiction team in raising awareness and preventing negative behaviours. May God protect Bahrain and its blessings of security and stability.
