The President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the customs field, particularly in light of the outcomes of the Italian Special Envoy's visit to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), reflecting interest in enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role in this initiative.
They also reviewed prospects for cooperation in the customs and logistics fields under the cooperation agreement concluded between the two countries, which led to the formation of a joint working group and to exchanges of visits between specialised delegations. This would enhance the efficiency of customs work, advance technical and technological cooperation, support trade exchange, facilitate the movement of goods, and strengthen the security of customs ports.
Both sides affirmed the importance of continued coordination and the exchange of expertise in a manner that serves mutual interests and further strengthens bilateral relations between the two countries.
