Anti-Cyber Crime: legal steps against a woman for a defaming video

The Anti-Cyber Crime Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has started legal procedures of cases filed by citizens against a circulated video of a woman filmed aboard.
The video defames them and other community figures. It also mentions number plates of cars of citizens, claiming that those vehicles were used to monitor her. However, it has been revealed that the information mentioned in the video is false.
The directorate took appropriate legal steps about the violations of the woman who was serving a jail term and released by a Royal pardon. However, the filed cases by citizens and the owners of the cars were referred to the Public Prosecution.
The directorate highlighted that the women accused individuals without providing evidence. The directorate added that she had previously practiced medicine without a license and defrauded people, claiming she had provided them with addiction treatment for money.
She previously defamed employees of a ministry after giving their testimonies to court. In another case, she announced false information during her court’s hearings to influence the impartial Bahraini judiciary system. The directorate urged the public to seek information from official sources.
