Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa handed the 1000th copy of the e-passport to the child Luwla Hassan Al Jar.
He asserted that the e-passports have been smoothly issued for applications that meet the criteria since the beginning of the service on March 20. He said that the number of issued e-passports reached 2000 copies. He said that the NPRA continuously reviews technical procedures to provide the best services for clients as part of the development and modernisation process.
Citizens could apply for a first-time passport and replace an expired one with a validity of less than six months, along with lost/damaged passports. Conditions to apply for the e-passport are mentioned at www.npra.gov.bh.
