As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and ensure security readiness in emergency situations, the General Directorate of Civil Defence carried out a joint drill in cooperation with the firefighting team of Bapco Gas Company. The drill simulated a hypothetical propane gas leak from one of the company’s storage tanks.
This exercise reflects the Directorate's commitment to implementing emergency plans and ensuring preparedness to handle various types of industrial and environmental incidents. Such efforts are a vital part of the Civil Defence strategy to protect vital and industrial facilities in the Kingdom. The drill included the rescue of an individual from the leakage area, the use of gas detection devices, and conducting decontamination procedures for those affected.
