Northern Governor, Mr. Ali bin Shaikh Abdulhussein Al Asfoor, chaired the weekly consultative meeting for officials in the governorate, which focused on preparing an action plan for the participation of 200 male and female students in the summer activity programme that attracts people of determination in cooperation with the Bahraini Motivational Society and the Bahraini Autistic Society, as it pursues to support the healthy cities programme in implementing the Biggest Winner competition and looks forward to raising awareness of the harmonisation of education outputs and the needs of the labour market and directing participants to university majors that are in line with the needs of the labour market in cooperation with the Arab Open University and Nasser Institute of Technology.
As part of the meeting, the governor also requested monitoring of the symbiotic charitable housing project being implemented by the governorate for needy families without adequate housing and the detached houses project, to prepare for the next phase of the project to work on more units. A future plan was then developed to implement the vision of the governorate and to develop innovative initiatives so that the Northern Governorate would be accredited a healthy city by adopting health indicators at the local level so that healthy lifestyle patterns can be changed and preventative systems can be strengthened in order to increase healthy life expectancy, which is an indicator of happiness, in the health system.
