The Interior Ministry’s Financial Intelligence National Centre (FINC) CEO, Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairwoman of the Policy Committee for the Prevention and Prohibition of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, inaugurated on Sunday the Third Gulf Foundation Course on the Requirements of the Mutual Evaluation Process in Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing. Held in Bahrain from January 5 to 9, the event is being organised in cooperation with the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Section of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Fifty anti-money laundering and terrorism financing experts from Gulf countries participate in the event.
The course aims to enhance awareness of the mutual evaluation process's requirements in combating money laundering and terrorism financing. The event will discuss the mechanism of the mutual evaluation process, including risk assessment, technical compliance, and the effectiveness of compliance with international standards related to combating money laundering and terrorism financing issued by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
