The Northern Governorate, in collaboration with the Darkulaib Charity Social Society and the Bahrain Society for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) patients, hosted a health event to commemorate Gulf Health Day. The event was attended by Northern Governor Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor and Deputy Northern Governor Brigadier Abdullah Ali Rashid Maanter, alongside the attendees from the Western Region and Hamad Town.
On this occasion, the Northern Governor underscored the governorate’s dedication to promoting healthy living and enhancing disease prevention by urging regular health screenings for early detection of chronic and infectious illnesses. He highlighted these initiatives as part of broader efforts to foster community collaboration under the Healthy Cities Programme, aligned with the World Health Organisation’s vision. Special recognition was given to Dr. Ahmed Jawahery, member of the Higher Committee of the Healthy Cities Programme in the Governorate and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KIMS Health and Royal Bahrain Hospital, and Zakariya Al Kadhem, Chairman of the Bahrain Sickle Cell Society.
The event featured complimentary health screenings for men, encompassing blood pressure and glucose tests, BMI assessments, and medical consultations, alongside guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, in cooperation with KIMS and Royal Bahrain Hospital.
