As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise, a delegation from the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), headed by Director of the Passport Major Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, conducted an official visit to the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.
During the visit, the delegation met with Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, and Major General Ahmed Mohammed Obaid Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General for Identity and Nationality Affairs. The visit included a briefing on the mechanisms and procedures for issuing travel documents, in addition to a review of the most prominent smart practices in this domain, most notably the “Smart Corridor” experience, which stands as an advanced model of digital transformation in the travel sector.
Major Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation for the technological and digital advancements witnessed by the United Arab Emirates in passport services. He hailed the innovative initiatives and leading practices observed during the visit, which reflect ambitious future-oriented visions. He also emphasised the importance of continuing the exchange of expertise and visits among relevant agencies to stay abreast of best practices in customer service, and to leverage artificial intelligence in enhancing service quality, improving security, and streamlining procedures.
